Though the idea for "This I Know" stemmed from a one of the writer's personal season of trusting God's wisdom through a relational hardship, the content began to speak to the rest of the writing team in other ways. The song then began to speak of the many different seasons God allows us to go through. Seasons of doubt, loneliness, false identification, and idolatry. Yet, God still remains good and sovereign, and He is working for our good and for His glory. And when we find ourselves in those difficult times, God continues to remind us of who He is and what we already know about Him. This truth has become the focus of worship in this song.
