OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of Disciple Church is to glorify the God of the Christian Scriptures by promoting His worship, edifying saints, and evangelizing sinners.

To this end we are committed to proclaiming God’s perfect Law and His glorious Gospel of Grace in Jesus Christ throughout the world, and to defending the “faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).

OUR DISTINCTIVES

CONFESSIONAL BAPTIST

The Abstract of Principles

(1858 - Southern Baptist Theological Seminary)

2nd London Baptist Confession

(1677 – English Particular Baptists)

An Orthodox Catechism

(1680 - Adapted from The Heidelberg Catechism)

GOD-CENTERED WORSHIP

(We center our life around worshipping our Holy Triune God in awe & reverence)

28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29)

FAMILY-CENTERED DISCIPLESHIP

(We follow God’s design for the parents to disciple their children in the home)

2 “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

(Ephesians 6:2-4)

STRATEGIC MISSIONS

(We seek to make disciples of all nations, giving special attention to the unreached)

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named… (Romans 15:20)

COMPASSION FOR THE VULNERABLE

(We seek to love our neighbors, giving special attention to the vulnerable)

27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. (James 1:27)
